Ty Pilgrim
Ty Pilgrim was born in Germany and started his Martial arts career in the early 70's with Judo and Boxing at the PSV Bochum. It was in the late 70's that he started training in the sport of Kickboxing that became more and more popular, as well as a version JiuJitsu called ATK under Verna Caprara in the City of Bochum. It was not until 1982 that he came in contact with authentic Muay Thai. Starting his Military career in the mid 80’s he continued his Martial Arts training as a combatant. It was in 2006 that Kru Ty felt ready to teach others the Art of Muay Thai, that’s when he decided to go to Las Vegas to become a Kru under Master Toddy. It was a truly new experience, it wasn't about your skills as a Muay Thai Fighter no it was about how to teach Muay Thai to others and make them successful. Master Toddy " yeah you maybe a good fighter but Kru means Teacher, can you teach?" These days Kru Ty Pilgrim is Internationally known for his Muay Thai and Luta Livre and has thaught in some very prestigous places like the Oklahoma State University for example.
In today’s MMA craze it seemed just natural to also work on your grappling skills and that’s where the connection to German native and ADCC Veteran Andy Schmidt aka "Andyconda" came into play, Kru Ty Pilgrim studies under him the Brazilian Art of Luta Livre and is currently the Representative for the United States of America in the International Luta Livre Organisation aka ILLO.
In addition to his extensive Martial Arts resume Ty Pilgrim added International and National Certifications as a Personal Trainer as well as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He trained professional Athletes and Executives of Sports like Football, Racing, Basketball, Golf, Soccer, Wresling, Muay Thai and of course Mixed Martial Arts.
